Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been placed in the form of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then found multiple other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

Local authorities said they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for information.

A high-ranking official commented the attack made him speechless and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
